The coated string market has come a long way since the launch of the Elixir Nanoweb strings.
The aim of the Long-Life strings is to increase the playing time of a string without sacrificing sound quality.
The manufacturer Cleartone from Burbank / Los Angeles has developed the new EMP process for this purpose.
Due to the EMP process (Enhanced Molecular Protection), the life of the strings is extended without affecting the playing feel or the sound. Other manufacturers have thicker coatings, but Cleartone deliberately takes a different approach here: due to the very inconspicuous coating, which is only about one micron thin, the strings feel like an uncoated set. Even when played harder, the coating does not dissolve or "pull threads", nor does it feel slippery or greasy.
They are available in different gauges for acoustic and electric guitar. Since the plain strings are also treated, the entire set stands up to professional demands.
