Classical guitar strings of the Super Classic series are also available with PVF (polyvinylidene fluoride) "Fluro Carbon" treble strings. Advantage and disadvantages of the Fluro Carbon material compared to nylon:
Advantages:
- Greater brilliance of sound due to the harmonic position of the overtones.
- Nylon has 3 times the stiffness of carbon, the overtone shift is correspondingly greater
- More favourable load coefficient, thus better stress on the string
- Smaller intonation allowance; it is only half the size of nylon strings
- More even, homogeneous string tension
- Thinner treble strings and thus better adaptation to the diameter of the basses
- Lower water absorption capacity
Disadvantages:
- Somewhat more frequent retuning due to the slightly higher stretch, but this is partly compensated for by the lower water absorption capacity compared to nylon!
All available gauges:
Low - C368 Green
Medium - C369 Red
High - C370 Blue
