The Optima Bergfee guitar strings are specially designed for the older construction of the so-called Wandergitarre. Due to their smaller body size, this kind of guitars is often confused with concert guitars, but they differ in that they have a different headstock and bridge.
The headstock with the tuning pegs as well as the bridge is similar to the system of today's acoustic guitars.
Due to the more robust construction of the Wandergitarre, these Optima Bergfee silver steel strings are needed to get a clear and loud tone. Nylon or concert guitar strings can also be used for the Wandergitarre, but usually produce only an inadequate, because very quiet and muffled sound.
The Bergfee strings, on the other hand, sound powerful and clear on this kind of guitars.
